1486 — Ahmad ibn Ubayd informed us; Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Mubashshir informed us; Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us; al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Abu Zabyan, from Ibn Abbas, who said:

A man from Banu Amir came to the Prophet and said, “Show me this seal between your shoulders. If you are afflicted with an illness, I will treat you, for I am the most skilled physician among the Arabs.” The Prophet said, “I will show you a sign.” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “Call that cluster of dates.”

He looked at a date cluster on a palm tree and called it; it came hopping until it stood before him. He said, “Tell it to return,” so it returned to its place ⦗888⦘. The man said, “O Banu Amir, I have never seen anyone more skilled in sorcery than this man today.”
