1480 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Farisi and ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn ʿAli informed us. They said: Ahmad ibn ʿAli ibn al-ʿAlaʾ informed us; Abu al-Ashʿath narrated to us; Khalid ibn al-Harith narrated to us; Saʿid narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas:
“The Prophet was brought a vessel containing water. His fingers were submerged in it—or they barely covered his fingers,” Saʿid was unsure. “The people then began to perform ablution, while water gushed forth from between his fingers.”
We asked Anas, “How many of you were there?” He replied, “Approximately three hundred.”

١٤٨٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْفَارِسِيُّ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ، قَالَ: ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَانْغَمَرَ أَصَابِعُهُ، وَلَا يَكَادُ ⦗٨٨٤⦘ يَغْمُرُ أَصَابِعَهُ، شَكَّ سَعِيدٌ، فَجَعَلُوا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ وَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ» قَالَ: قُلْنَا لِأَنَسٍ: كَمْ كُنْتُمْ؟ قَالَ: «زُهَاءَ ثَلَاثِ مِائَةٍ» . أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَمُسْلِمٌ
