1479 — Ahmad ibn ʿUbayd informed us: ʿAli ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir informed us; Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us; Israʾil narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allah, who said:
“We used to regard the signs as blessings, whereas you regard them as warnings. We were travelling with the Messenger of Allah when water became scarce. He said, ‘Look for whatever little water remains.’ A small amount was brought to him in a vessel, and the Messenger of Allah placed his hand in it. Then he said, ‘Come to the blessed purification; blessing is from Allah.’ By Allah, I saw water gushing forth from between the fingers of the Messenger of Allah until we had drunk our fill. We would also hear the food glorifying Allah as it was being eaten.”
