1477—Isa ibn Ali informed us: Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us; Harun ibn Abd Allah told me; Sa'id ibn Sulayman told us; Sulayman ibn Kathir told us; I heard Ibn Shihab narrate—from [chain transition].

1478—Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Hamid al-Tabari also informed us: Ahmad ibn al-Sarri ibn Salih told us; Ya'qub ibn Sufyan told us; Muhammad ibn Kathir told us; Sulayman ibn Kathir told us; I heard Ibn Shihab, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Jabir ibn Abd Allah, who said: “Before the pulpit was made, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would stand by the trunk of a palm tree and deliver the sermon. When the pulpit was put in place, he ascended it, and the trunk moaned until we heard its moaning. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to it and placed his hand upon it, whereupon it fell silent.”
