1397 — Ahmad informed us by authorization. He said: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Dawud informed us. He said: Abu Dawud related to us; Abbas al-Anbari related to us; al-Asma‘i related to us; Mu‘tamir related to us, from Yunus ibn Ubayd, who said:

“I lived to see Basra when it contained no proponent of divine decree except Sanusuwayh, Ma‘bad al-Juhani, and another accursed man among Banu ‘Awafah.”
