1388 — Ubayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad informed us: Ismail ibn Muhammad informed us; al-Hasan ibn Arafah related to us; Marwan ibn Shujaʿ al-Jazari related to us, from Abd al-Malik, from Ata, who said:

“I came to Ibn Abbas while he was drawing water from Zamzam, and the lower parts of his garments had become wet. I said, ‘The matter of the Divine Decree has been discussed.’ He said, ‘Have they actually done it?’ I replied, ‘Yes.’ ⦗824⦘ He said, ‘By Allah, this verse was revealed only concerning them: “Taste the touch of Hellfire. Indeed, We have created everything according to a decree.” [Surah al-Qamar 54:49] They are the worst of this Ummah.’”
