1365 — Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umar informed us. Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us. Ahmad ibn Sinan said: Musa ibn Dawud, the judge of Tarsus, related to me in his home: Shu'ayb ibn Harb related to me: “I said to Sufyan al-Thawri: ‘A relative of mine is a Qadari; should I give him in marriage?’ He replied: ‘No—not at all.’” He said: “I asked al-Hasan ibn Salih ⦗812⦘, and he said: ‘Someone else is dearer to me than he is.’”
١٣٦٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَاضِي طَرْطُوسَ بِبَيْتِهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي شُعَيْبُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: " قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ: نَسِيبٌ لِي قَدَرِيٌّ أُزَوِّجُهُ؟ قَالَ: «لَا، وَلَا كَرَامَةَ» ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ⦗٨١٢⦘، قَالَ: «غَيْرُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُ»
