1341 — Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Abd Allah informed us; Uthman ibn Muhammad ibn Harun narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; Abd al-Majid ibn Abd al-Aziz ibn Abi Rawwad said:
We were with a man who was speaking about the divine decree. He picked up an egg—we were eating eggs and bread—and said, “If I wish, I will eat this egg, and if I wish, I will not eat it.” We said to him, “Then will it.” He said, “I do will it.” So he put it into his mouth.
Then two strong men from among our companions sprang upon him and forced his jaws apart until he threw it out. They said, “You claimed, enemy of Allah, that if you wished, you would eat it. But the will belongs to Allah: He willed that you should not eat it, so you threw it out.”
