1337 — Abdullah ibn Ahmad related from his father, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, that he said: “Thawr ibn Yazid al-Kala‘i held the view of divine decree. He was among the people of Homs, who expelled and banished him because he held that view.” He said: “It reached me that he came to Medina, and Malik was told, ‘Thawr has arrived.’ He replied, ‘Do not go to him.’ He said, ‘People are not to gather around an innovator in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.’”
