1305—Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad al-Tabari informed us, saying: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Harun al-Ruyani narrated from al-Rabi‘, from al-Shafi‘i, that he said:
If a man swore, saying, “By Allah, I shall not do such-and-such unless Allah wills, or unless Allah decrees,” intending by this reference to Allah’s will or decree the divine decree, then no expiation is due from him.
