1299—‘Ubayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad informed us. ‘Uthman ibn Ahmad related to us. Hanbal related to us: I heard Abu ‘Abd Allah say:
“Allah Most High’s knowledge concerning His servants precedes their creation, as do His power and His will concerning them. Allah created Adam and knew of him before creating him. Likewise, His prior knowledge encompasses the deeds of His servants and everything they will do.”
١٢٩٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: ثنا حَنْبَلٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ: عِلْمُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فِي الْعِبَادِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلَقَهُمْ سَابِقٌ، وَقُدْرَتُهُ وَمَشِيئَتُهُ فِي الْعِبَادِ، قَالَ: قَدْ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ وَعَلِمَ مِنْهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَهُ، وَكَذَا عِلْمُهُ سَابِقٌ مُحِيطٌ بِأَفَاعِيلِ الْعِبَادِ وَكُلِّ مَا هُمْ عَامِلُونَ
