101—Al-Hasan ibn Uthman informed us; Isma‘il ibn Muhammad informed us; al-Hasan ibn Mukram informed us; al-Hasan ibn Qutaybah narrated to us; from al-Mughirah al-Sarraj, Sufyan al-Thawri, Shu‘bah ibn al-Hajjaj, Isra’il, Matar, Malik ibn Mighwal, Abd al-Rahman al-Mas‘udi, Sharik, and Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash; from Abu Ishaq; from Sa‘id ibn Wahb, who said: Abdullah said: “People will continue to be upon goodness so long as knowledge comes to them from their elders. But when knowledge comes to them from their juniors, they will perish.”
١٠١ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ , أنبا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , أنبا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ , ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ , عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ السَّرَّاجِ , وَسُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ , وَشُعْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ , وَإِسْرَائِيلَ , وَمَطَرٍ , وَمَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ , وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ , وَشَرِيكٍ , وَأَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ , قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: «لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا أَتَاهُمُ الْعِلْمُ مِنْ قِبَلِ كُبَرَائِهِمْ , فَإِذَا أَتَاهُمُ الْعِلْمُ مِنْ قِبَلِ أَصَاغِرِهِمْ هَلَكُوا»
