1270 — Al-Qasim ibn Jaʿfar informed us: ʿIsa ibn Nuʿaym narrated to us; he said: Al-Qasim ibn Nasr narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Kathir narrated to us; he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from ʿUmar ibn Muhammad, who said: ⦗762⦘ I heard Salim ibn ʿAbdullah ibn ʿUmar when a man asked him, “Does a man commit adultery by divine decree?” He replied, “Yes.” He asked, “Is it something Allah has decreed for him?” He replied, “Yes.” He asked, “Then will He punish him for it, even though He decreed it for him?” He said: So Salim pelted him with pebbles.
