1255 — ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Ubayd Allah informed us: Ahmad ibn Sulayman related to us; Ibrahim ibn Ishaq and Ja‘far ibn Muhammad related to us. They said: Qutaybah related to us; he said: Hammad ibn Zayd related to us, from ‘Awf, who said: “I heard al-Hasan say: ‘Whoever denies divine decree has denied Islam.’ Then he said: ‘Indeed, Allah created creation and created them according to divine decree; He apportioned their lifespans according to divine decree, and apportioned their provisions according to divine decree; and affliction and well-being are according to divine decree.’”
