1223—Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ahmad ibn al-Qasim and al-Hasan ibn Uthman informed us. They said: Ali ibn Muhammad ibn al-Zubayr informed us. He said: Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Anbas narrated to us. He said: Ya‘la narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Hashim, from Mujahid, who said: Ibn Abbas was told, “There are people who speak about divine decree.” He said: “They deny the Book. If I were to take one of them by the hair, I would pull it out. Allah was above His Throne before He created anything. Then He created the Pen, and it wrote all that will come to pass until the Day of Resurrection. People therefore proceed only according to a matter that has already been decreed.” Their wording is the same.
