1218 — Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umar informed us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us: Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Zayd ibn al-Hasan ibn Furat narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from al-Harith, who said: I heard Ibn Mas‘ud say, as he put his finger into his mouth: “No, by Allah! A man does not taste the sweetness of faith until he believes in the divine decree, affirms it, and knows that he will die and be brought forth, and that he will be resurrected after death.”
