1193 — ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar and ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn ʿAli informed us; al-Husayn ibn Ismaʿil informed us; he said: Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Mukharrimi informed us; he said: Wakiʿ narrated to us; he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Ibrahim ibn Saʿd, from Saʿd ibn Malik, Khuzaymah ibn Thabit, and Usamah ibn Zayd, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, this plague is a punishment and a remnant of a punishment by which a people were punished. If it breaks out in a land while you are not there, do not enter it; and if it breaks out in a land while you are there, do not leave it in flight from it.”
