1175—Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Ḥusayn informed us: al-Ḥusayn ibn Ibrāhīm al-Iskāf narrated to us in the year 319 AH; he said: Muḥammad ibn Ṭarīf narrated to us: ʿAbd Allah ibn Idrīs narrated to us, from Shuʿbah, from Burayd ibn Abī Maryam, from Abū al-Ḥawrāʾ al-Saʿdī, who said: I said to al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī, “What have you retained from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” ⦗717⦘ He said, “Yes, I heard him, and he would teach us: ‘O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided; grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being; take me into Your care among those whom You have taken into Your care; bless for me what You have given; and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree, and none can decree over You. Truly, he whom You take into Your care is never humiliated. Blessed and Exalted are You.’”
