1134 — Ali ibn Umar informed us. Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Attab informed us. He said: Ubayd ibn Abd al-Wahid narrated to us. He said: Nuʿaym ibn Hammad narrated to us. He said: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us. He said: Jaʿfar ibn Burqan informed us, from Maymun ibn Mihran, who said: Ibn Abbas said to me: “Preserve from me three matters: beware of studying the stars, for it leads to soothsaying; beware of divine decree, for it leads to heresy; and beware of reviling any of Muhammad’s Companions, lest Allah cast you face-down into the Fire.”
١١٣٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ , أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَتَّابٍ قَالَ: ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ: ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ , عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ لِيَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: احْفَظْ عَنِّي ثَلَاثًا: إِيَّاكَ وَالنَّظَرَ فِي النُّجُومِ فَإِنَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْكِهَانَةِ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَالْقَدَرَ فَإِنَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الزَّنْدَقَةِ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَشَتَمَ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَيُكِبَّكَ اللَّهُ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وَجْهِكَ
