1133 — Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Muslim informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn al-Hasan informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn Ali narrated to us. He said: Suwayd ibn Saʿid narrated to us. He said: al-Muʿtamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: I heard Ibn Abbas say: “The Children of Israel adhered to a clear law and way, prevailing over those who opposed them, until they disputed over divine decree. Once they disputed, they fell into division, hatred, and mutual cursing, and began to regard one another’s inviolable rights as lawful. So their enemy was given power over them and tore them utterly to pieces.”
