1121 — Ubaydullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad informed us: Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yazid informed us. He said: My father narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Talking in the mosque is idle speech, except for recitation of the Quran, remembrance of Allah, or asking about some good matter ⦗695⦘. Whoever speaks about divine decree in this world will be questioned about it on the Day of Resurrection: if he is mistaken, he will perish. But whoever does not speak about it will not be questioned about it on the Day of Resurrection.”
١١٢١ - أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ , أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: ثنا أَبِي قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «الْكَلَامُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لَغْوٌ إِلَّا قِرَاءَةَ الْقُرْآنِ، وَذِكْرَ اللَّهِ ﷿، أَوْ مَسْأَلَةً عَنْ خَيْرٍ ⦗٦٩٥⦘، وَمَنْ تَكَلَّمَ بِالْقَدَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا سُئِلَ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَإِنْ أَخْطَأَ هَلَكَ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَتَكَلَّمْ بِهِ لَمْ يُسْأَلْ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
