1120 — Ubaydullah ibn Ahmad informed us: Al-Husayn ibn Ismail informed us: Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Abbas narrated to us: Ibn Adi narrated to us: Salih ibn Abi al-Ahmar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn Amr, who said: A group of people were disputing about the Quran at the door of one of the chambers of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, with his garment wrapped around him and his face changed in anger, and said: “O people, it was through this that the nations before you perished. The Quran was revealed with one part confirming another, not with one part contradicting another.”
