1115 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Farisi informed us: Ahmad ibn Sa'id al-Thaqafi informed us: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Dhuhli narrated to us: Nu'aym ibn Hammad narrated to us, from Ibn al-Mubarak, from Yahya ibn Ayyub, who said: Maslamah ibn Ali narrated to me that al-Zubaydi narrated to him that al-Zuhri narrated to him ⦗691⦘, from Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“No nation has ever perished except through associating partners with Allah; and no nation has ever associated partners with Him without the first appearance of its polytheism being the denial of the divine decree.”
