1091—Muhammad ibn Ubayd Allah ibn al-Hajjaj informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn al-Husayn informed us. He said: Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath narrated to us. He said: Abd al-Wahhab ibn Najdah narrated to us. He said: Baqiyyah narrated to us. He also said: Harun ibn Marwan al-Raqqi and Kathir ibn Ubayd narrated to us. They said: Muhammad ibn Harb narrated to us—the wording is the same—from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abdullah ibn Abi Qays, from Aishah, who said:
I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what of the children of the believers?” He replied, “They are with their fathers.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, even though they did no deeds?” He replied, “Allah knows best what they would have done.”
She said: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, then what of the children of the polytheists?” He replied, “They are with their fathers.” I said, “Even though they did no deeds?” He replied, “Allah knows best what they would have done.”
