1088—Ahmad ibn Umar informed us. He said: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn Shayban al-Ramli narrated to us. He said: Abdullah ibn Maymun al-Qaddah narrated to us. He said: Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who said:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out holding two things in his hands. He opened his right hand and said:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. A record from Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, containing the people of Paradise—their numbers, distinctions, and lineages—fully accounted for until the Day of Resurrection: none shall be added to them, and none shall be taken away from them. A servant may be led along the path of the wretched until it is said, ‘They are among them—indeed, they are, they are.’ Then one of them attains his felicity, even if only an interval between the two milkings of a she-camel remains before his death. And the wretched may be led along the path of felicity until it is said, ‘They are among them—indeed, they are, they are.’ Then one of them attains his wretchedness, even if only an interval between the two milkings of a she-camel remains before his death.”

He then opened his left hand and said:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. A record from the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, for the people of the Fire ⦗673⦘—their numbers, distinctions, and lineages—fully accounted for until the Day of Resurrection: none shall be added to them, and none shall be taken away from them. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Deeds are judged by their final outcomes; deeds are judged by their final outcomes.”
