1084—Isa ibn Ali informed us; Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us. He said: Ali ibn al-Ja'd narrated to us. He said: Abu Ghassan narrated to us.

1085—Umar ibn Zikar al-Tammar also informed us. He said: Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Sa'id narrated to us. He said: Ali ibn Muslim narrated to us. He said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us. He said: Muhammad ibn Mutarrif Abu Ghassan narrated to us. He said: Abu Hazim narrated to us, from Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

1086—Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman informed us. He said: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad informed us. He said: Yunus ibn Abd al-A'la narrated to us from his book, in the Book of Divine Decree. He said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us. He said: Sa'id ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to me, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said—the wording of the hadith is that of Ali ibn al-Ja'd:

“Indeed, a servant may, in the sight of people, perform the deeds of the people of Paradise while he is among the people of the Fire; and he may, in the sight of people, perform the deeds of the people of the Fire while he is among the people of Paradise. Deeds are judged only by their final outcomes.”

It was recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
