1058 — Ahmad ibn ‘Ubayd informed us; ‘Ali informed us; he said: Ahmad ibn ⦗659⦘ Sinan narrated to us; he said: Ya‘qub ibn Muhammad al-Zuhri narrated to us; he said: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Imran narrated to us; he said: ‘Abd Allah ibn Mus‘ab ibn Jamil ibn Manzur narrated to us, from his father, from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir al-Juhani, who said:
“We were with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on the expedition to Tabuk. He overslept the dawn prayer until the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then arose and prayed it. He continued on for the rest of that day and night, and in the morning arrived at Tabuk. There he addressed us, and among the words of his sermon were: ‘The wretched one is he who was decreed wretched in his mother’s womb, while the blessed one is he who takes admonition from the fate of others.’”
