“Allah has entrusted an angel with the womb. He says, ‘My Lord, a drop of fluid; my Lord, a clinging clot; my Lord, a morsel of flesh.’ ⦗656⦘ Then, when He wills to decree its creation, he says, ‘My Lord, male or female? Wretched or blessed? What will its provision be? And what will its lifespan be?’ Thus, all of that is written while it is still in its mother’s womb.”
Al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded it through Hammad ibn Zayd’s narration.
