1029—Ubaydullah ibn Ahmad informed us; al-Husayn ibn Isma‘il informed us. He said: Ali ibn Ahmad al-Jawaribi al-Wasiti narrated to us; he said: Yaqub ibn Muhammad—that is, al-Zuhri—narrated to us; he said: Abd al-Aziz—that is, Ibn Muhammad al-Darawardi—narrated to us, from Umar ibn Abi Amr, from al-A‘raj, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“A vow does not bring about for the son of Adam anything that Allah has not already decreed for him. Rather, the vow coincides with the decree and thereby causes the miser to give what he had not intended to give.” Muslim recorded it.
١٠٢٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْجَوَارِبِيُّ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي الزُّهْرِيَّ قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ النَّذْرَ لَا يُقَدِّرُ لِابْنِ آدَمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَكُنِ اللَّهُ قَدَّرَهُ، وَلَكِنَّ النَّذْرَ يُوَافِقُ الْقَدَرَ فَيُخْرِجُ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَهُ» أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ
