1028—Abdullah ibn Muslim ibn Yahya, Ubaydullah ibn Ahmad ibn Ali, and Abd al-Salam ibn Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umayr informed us; they said: Al-Husayn ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Umar ibn Abi Mudhiq narrated to us; Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us; Rabi‘ah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from al-A‘raj, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, though there is goodness in each. Be diligent in pursuing what benefits you, seek Allah’s help, and do not give in to incapacity. If something befalls you, do not say, ‘If only I had done such-and-such,’ but say, ‘Allah decreed it, and He does whatever He wills.’ For ‘if only’ opens the way to the work of Satan.” ⦗641⦘ Muslim recorded it.
