Sharh Usul Itiqad Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamaah - Al-Lalakai - (3/613)

984 — Muhammad ibn Ja‘far informed us; he said: ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Thabit narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us; he said: ‘Abd Allah ibn Salih narrated to us; he said: Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying, Exalted is He: “They were called to prostrate while they were sound.” [al-Qalam 68:43] He said: “They are the disbelievers: they were called in this world while they were secure, but today they will be called while they are afraid.”

Then Allah, Glorified is He, informed that He had prevented the people of polytheism from obeying Him in this world and the Hereafter. For He said: “They were not able to hear” [Hud 11:20]—that is, to obey Him ⦗614⦘—“nor did they see” [Hud 11:20]. As for the Hereafter, He said: “Then they will not be able” [al-Qalam 68:42], “their eyes humbled” [al-Qalam 68:43].

٩٨٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ: ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَقَدْ كَانُوا يُدْعَونَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَالِمُونَ﴾ [القلم: ٤٣] قَالَ: هُمُ الْكُفَّارُ يُدْعَونَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ آمِنُونَ، فَالْيَوْمَ يُدْعَوْنَ وَهُمْ خَائِفُونَ. ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ أَنَّهُ حَالَ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ وَبَيْنَ طَاعَتِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ: ﴿مَا كَانُوا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ السَّمْعَ﴾ [هود: ٢٠] وَهِيَ طَاعَتُهُ ⦗٦١٤⦘، ﴿وَمَا كَانُوا يُبْصِرُونَ﴾ [هود: ٢٠] ، وَأَمَّا فِي الْآخِرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ: ﴿فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ﴾ [القلم: ٤٢] ، ﴿خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ﴾ [القلم: ٤٣]
