- Isa ibn Ali informed us; Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi reported to us; Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj reported to us; Imran ibn Ghiyath al-Fazari, the oil-seller, narrated to me, saying: My father-in-law informed me. Abu Sa'id said: “I asked him the name of his father-in-law, and he said: Abdullah ibn Shirazadh. He said: I was in Abadan when I saw in a dream that a man had been brought in white garments and placed in a ship. I said, ‘Who is this? He died upon Islam and the sunnah, and was saved.’ When day had fully broken, news reached us that Sufyan al-Thawri had died that night.”
٦٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , أنبا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ , أنبا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ , حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ الْفَزَارِيُّ الزَّيَّاتُ , قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو امْرَأَتِي , قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: " فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اسْمِ أَبِي امْرَأَتِهِ , فَقَالَ: " عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شِيرَازَاذَ , قَالَ: " كُنْتُ بِعَبَّادَانَ , فَرَأَيْتُ فِيَ الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ رَجُلًا جِيءَ بِهِ فِي ثِيَابٍ بِيضٍ فَوُضِعَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ , قُلْتُ: «مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَدْ مَاتَ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالسُّنَّةِ وَنَجَا. فَلَمَّا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ جَاءَنَا الْخَبَرُ أَنَّ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيَّ مَاتَ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ»
