- Al-Hasan ibn Uthman informed us; Muhammad ibn Abdullah narrated to us; Musa ibn Sahl narrated to us; Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us; Humayd narrated to us, saying: “I recited the entire Quran to al-Hasan a year before his death, and he would interpret the Quran with certainty. I asked him about His saying: ‘Thus We cause it to enter the hearts of the guilty.’ [al-Shu‘ara’ 26:200] He said: ‘Polytheism.’”
٩٨٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ سَهْلٍ قَالَ: ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ: ثنا حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِسَنَةٍ وَكَانَ يُفَسِّرِ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى الْإِثْبَاتِ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: ﴿كَذَلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ﴾ [الشعراء: ٢٠٠] قَالَ: الشِّرْكُ
