970 – Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Abd Allah informed us, saying: Da'laj ibn Ahmad informed us; Ibn Shirawayh narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Rahawayh narrated to us; Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us; Ma'mar narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, who heard a man saying, “Evil is not by divine decree.” Ibn Abbas said, “The decisive proof between us and the Qadariyyah is: ‘Those who associate others with Allah will say, “Had Allah willed, neither we nor our forefathers would have associated anything with Him”’ [Surah al-An‘am, 6:148],” until he reached: “Had He willed, He would have guided you all” [Surah al-An‘am, 6:149].
