955 — Muhammad ibn Ja‘far informed us: Ubayd Allah ibn Thabit informed us: Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us: Abd Allah ibn Salih narrated to us: Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn Abbas, concerning His saying: “Successful indeed is the one who purifies it” [al-Shams 91:9], and “ruined indeed is the one who corrupts it” [al-Shams 91:10]. He said: “Successful indeed is the one whose soul Allah purifies, and ruined indeed is the one whose soul Allah corrupts, thereby leading it astray.”
