949—Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar informed us. He said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn Thābit related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Manṣūr related to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Ṣāliḥ related to us; Muʿāwiyah related to us, from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭalḥah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding, “Indeed, We have created all things according to a precise decree” [al-Qamar 54:49]: He said, “Allah created all creation according to a decree, and He created good and evil. The best of good is blessedness, and the worst of evil is wretchedness.”
