947—Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī informed us; Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Fāriḍ, in Mecca, related to us; Yazīd ibn Muḥammad related to us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Ḥafṣ related to us; Sufyān al-Thawrī related to us, from Ziyād ibn Ismāʿīl, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbbād al-Makhzūmī, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The polytheists of Quraysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to dispute with him concerning the divine decree, whereupon this verse was revealed:
“Indeed, the wicked are in error and blazing Fire. On the Day they are dragged face down into the Fire: ‘Taste the touch of Hell!’ Indeed, We have created all things according to a precise decree.” [al-Qamar 54:47–49]

٩٤٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْفَارِسِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْفَارِضُ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ: ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ مُشْرِكُوا قُرَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُخَاصِمُونَهُ فِي الْقَدَرِ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: ﴿إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ، يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ، إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ﴾ [القمر: ٤٨]
