944—ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn ʿAlī ibn Ghiyāth informed us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Yaḥyā informed us; Ibrāhīm ibn Mujashshir related to us; ʿUbaydah ibn Ḥumayd related to us; he said: ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib related to us, from Miqsam, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding this verse:

“Indeed, We have been recording what you used to do.” [al-Jāthiyah 45:29]

He said: “Allah wrote down the deeds of the children of Adam and all that they would do until the Day of Resurrection.” He said: “And the angels record what the children of Adam do, day by day. That is His saying: ‘Indeed, We have been recording what you used to do.’ [al-Jāthiyah 45:29]”
