933—Abd al-Rahman cited it. He said: Isma‘il ibn Abi al-Harith narrated to us; Suwayd ibn Sa‘id narrated to us. He said: Ali ibn Asim narrated to us. He said:

Dawud al-Jawaribi spoke in terms of likening Allah to His creation, so the people of Wasit gathered against him, including ⦗587⦘ Muhammad ibn Yazid, Khalid al-Tahhan, Hushaym, and others. They went to the governor and informed him of his doctrine. They unanimously agreed that his blood was to be shed. He then died during his tenure, and the scholars among the people of Wasit did not offer the funeral prayer over him.
