of God’s existence, His truthfulness, and the truthfulness of the one who conveyed it—proofs before which mountains split and the stoutest men bow. Whenever these evildoers insinuate themselves by injecting base morals and dismantling noble etiquette, and they find in that path a means to advance their falsehood, the Qur’an confronts them with an urgent summons to lofty character, righteous deeds, and beautiful manners that leave evil no avenue to reach its adherent.
And when they surge forward brandishing the slogans of poverty, the plight of the poor, and the demand for absolute equality—protesting against the wealthy for hoarding, domination, the enslavement of God’s servants, and the monopolization of property and wealth—they discover that this Magnificent Revelation, with its justice and equity and its binding affirmation of diverse rights that satisfy every need once necessity arises, repels them, resists them, and nullifies every pretext with which they roam and rage.
Then, when it presents itself with its great rectitude and vast power of reform, its wise order, upright guidance, exhortation to tread the straight path, radiant light, and decisive proofs, no falsehood can stand before it without being obliterated, no evil without being crushed. No seeker of truth and right guidance is left but that he selects it and embraces it, and no sound intellect reflects upon it without yielding to it. It is the impregnable fortress against every evil and the relentless subduer of all who oppose it in any affair.
