Principle 70: The Qur’an is fully able to counter every agent of corruption, and nothing affords protection from all evils except clinging to its fundamentals and details and enforcing its laws and rulings.
Previously we cited ample evidence for this great principle: the Qur’an’s call to reform and righteousness, its method of disputing the people of falsehood, and its guidance for both domestic and foreign policy—all of which attest to that principle. Every sensible person knows that immunity from every form of evil is attainable only by holding fast to this Qur’an—its foundations, doctrines, morals, manners, and legal prescriptions.
Here, however, we shall offer a few further particulars. The people of evil and corruption are of two kinds.
- The first are those who champion false beliefs, religions, and sects and invite others to them. The Qur’an is replete with arguments against such people and with clear proofs exposing the futility of their claims. No proponent of falsehood utters a contention except that the Qur’an has already set forth its refutation with manifest truth and unambiguous evidence. Thus it overturns the positions of every denier of the Resurrection, every materialist, every polytheist, and all who cling to altered or abrogated religions among Jews, Christians, and other peoples:
“And they never bring you any argument but that We bring you the truth and a better explanation.” [25:33]
Allah cites their sophistries, rejects them, and employs a variety of well-known methods to invalidate them. A detailed treatment of this, however, lies beyond the scope of the present work.
- The second kind comprises those who seek to upend religion, society, politics, and rights—namely the communists whose evil has spread, whose influence has grown, and whose propaganda has penetrated every social stratum.
