Likewise, in affirming the mission of the noblest and final Messenger, He says: “By the star when it descends; your companion has neither strayed nor is he deluded” ⦗Al-Najm 1-2⦘—thus He denies, from every possible angle, anything that contradicts true guidance. He then states, “It is nothing but a revelation sent down” ⦗Al-Najm 4⦘, and so on through the rest of the passage.
Such transitions occur in the Quran again and again: He shifts from describing how Zechariah was granted a child despite his old age and his wife’s barrenness to recounting the story of Mary and Jesus; and, having already established in the preceding verses the sanctity and majesty of the Kaʿbah, He immediately gives the command to turn toward it in prayer. Examples of this type are plentiful throughout the Quran.
