From all this we come to realize that He whose attributes and majesty are as described is the only One worthy of worship, the Beloved and Praiseworthy, the Lord of Majesty and Honor. Awe is due to Him alone, and pure supplication must be directed solely to Him, for everything else—every created, maintained being—depends entirely on Him in all its affairs.
Moreover, when we look at the universe from the angle that it was all created for our benefit, placed at our disposal, and that Allah has enabled humankind to draw countless advantages from its elements, resources, and energies, we understand that the recent inventions of our times are among the very benefits Allah embedded in it for the children of Adam. Therefore, we pursue every avenue within our means to extract from it whatever will improve our condition, without sinking into laziness or idleness, and without alleging that the study and application of such matters are futile sciences merely because unbelievers have preceded and surpassed us in them. All of these things—as Allah has pointed out—are included in His subjugation of the cosmos to us and in His teaching the human being what it did not know.
