The Scholars Are the Heirs of the Prophets

As for those besides the Prophets—namely the shaykhs of knowledge and devotion—whoever affirms them to be intermediaries between the Messenger and his community, conveying his teachings, instructing, disciplining, and serving as models to be followed, has judged correctly. When these scholars reach unanimity, their consensus is a decisive proof; they do not gather
