Ra's al-HusaynIbn Taimiya

So what, then, of performing the prayer inside mosques that have been erected over graves? We have treated this question at length elsewhere.

Our sole intention here is to verify the true location of al-Ḥusayn’s head (may Allah be pleased with him) and to point out that the places widely known among the people of Egypt and the Levant as al-Ḥusayn’s mashhad (shrine)—where they claim his head is kept—are nothing but lies, fabrications, sheer falsehood and slander.

Allah knows best.

Reflect, dear reader—may Allah protect you and make us and you among those brought near to Him—on the precision with which the Sacred Law closes every possible door to illicit practices.
