Hadith Thirty-Eight

49 – With the same chain up to the judge Abū Naṣr: Idrīs ibn Ibrāhīm informed us; al-Ḥasan ibn Ziyād narrated to us; Abū Ḥanīfah narrated from Bilāl, from Wahb, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach them the tashahhud and the takbīr—saying “Allāhu akbar”—in the prayer whenever they bowed and prostrated, just as he would teach them a surah from the Quran.
