Hadith Thirty-Seven

48 – With the same chain up to Ibn Khayrūn: Ibn Shādhān informed us; Abū Naṣr ibn Ashkāb informed us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṭāhir narrated to us; Ismāʿīl ibn Tawbah narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan conveyed from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Bilāl, from Wahb ibn Kaysān, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“O people, hold on to your wealth and do not ruin it, for whatever a person grants as an ʿumrā (a lifetime gift) while he is alive becomes the property of the one for whom it was granted after the grantor’s death.”
