Hadith Thirty-Four

45 – With the same chain up to Ibn Khayrūn, Abū ʿAlī ibn Shādhān informed us; Judge Abū Naṣr ibn Ishkāb narrated to me; Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad informed us; Idrīs ibn Ibrāhīm informed us; al-Ḥasan ibn Ziyād informed us; Abū Ḥanīfah narrated to us, from Abū Ḥujayah, from Abū al-Aswad, from Abū Dharr, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best substance with which you can dye the hair is henna and katam (a dark plant-based dye).”
