Hadith Thirty-One

42 – My grandfather informed us; al-Ṣalāḥ ibn Abī ʿUmar informed us; al-Fakhr ibn al-Bukhārī informed us; Ibn al-Jawzī informed us; al-Mubārak ibn ʿAbd al-Jabbār informed us; Abū Muḥammad al-Fārisī informed us; Muḥammad ibn Muẓaffar informed us; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAlī informed us; Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Tirmidhī informed us; Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad al-Tirmidhī informed us; Ḥammād ibn Abī Ḥanīfah narrated to us, from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Ayyūb ⦗55⦘ al-Sakhtiyānī:

The wife of Thābit ibn Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “There is no longer any compatibility between me and Thābit.” He asked, “Will you obtain khulʿ from him by returning his ḥadīqah (orchard)?” She replied, “Yes, and I will even add more.” He said, “As for the extra amount—no.”
