Hadith Twenty-Six

37 – With the same chain up to Ibn Shabīb: Abū Yūsuf narrated to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū Bakr ibn Abī al-Jahm al-Qurashī, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said:

“I arrived in Iraq and found Saʿd wiping over his leather socks. I asked, ‘What is this?’ He replied, ‘When you reach ʿUmar ⦗48⦘, ask him.’ So when I came to ʿUmar I asked him, and he said, ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wipe over them, so I do the same.’”
